Job Description – Kitchen Manager

Bean Gaming is a family run independent board game café, where our main focus is building communities through great customer service and consistent positive experiences, while ditching the screens people can’t seem to do without.

The ideal candidate will want to build their own kitchen and look to take complete ownership.  Implementing their own processes, standards and ultimately introducing a new menu and the staff to deliver it all.  Generally working in tandem with the owner to grow the business and the opportunities.  However, in the short term, the mission will be to hit the ground running and start rolling out Pizza to our customers while figuring out how we move onwards and upwards!

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, cook and present food quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards and FSA guidelines.

  • Keeping the kitchen clean, hygienic and tidy, at all times

  • Startup and Shutdown procedures as per shift.

  • Work safely around kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues to the manager

  • Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients

  • Confidence to talk with customers and adapt meals as required for allergen and dietary requirements.

  • Managing and Maintaining stock, day dotting, FIFO, prep etc

  • Build the kitchen side of the business: Ongoing development of the Menu and Staff.

  • Own the Kitchen!

Please note that the café is open from 4pm to 10pm Tuesday to Friday and 11am to 10pm on Weekends, and you would be expected to work flexible shifts between these hours.  The Kitchen Manager is a full time role.

This role will report to the Owner/Manager

This role is an hourly paid role at £11.72 per hour, reviewed after 3 months.
